Job Description


An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic and technically skilled Electrical BIM Modeller to join a well-established engineering consultancy's Electrical team based in Cape Town.


About the Role


Working as an integral part of the electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for Revit draughting of electrical and electronic engineering designs across a range of large commercial, retail, industrial, and multi-residential building projects.
You will work with the latest BIM software and collaborate closely with engineers and fellow technicians to produce coordinated, clash-free models to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities


Produce accurate Revit 3D models and electrical engineering drawings for a range of large building projects
Model electrical and electronic systems including MV/LV, generators, UPS, PV, lighting, small power, access control, CCTV, and data networks
Collaborate with electrical engineers and other disciplines to ensure fully coordinated, clash-free BIM models
Incorporate engineer mark-ups and revisions accurately and promptly
Maintain drawing registers and ensure all deliverables are issued on time and to the required standard
Uphold BIM standards, naming conventions, and model quality across all projects
Engage professionally with the wider project and engineering team


What You Bring


Formal qualification in Autodesk Revit — essential
4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Revit 3D modelling
Experience in electrical or building services BIM/draughting strongly advantageous
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clearly across a collaborative team
A team-oriented approach — someone who contributes positively and works well with others
