Electrical Supervisor (Underground)

The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all electrical maintenance and installation activities within an underground mining environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards, operational efficiency, and adherence to all regulatory requirements.


Minimum Requirements:


Grade 12 / Matric.
Advantageous: Trade Test Certificate (Electrician).
Minimum 10 years' experience as an Electrical Assistant.
Minimum 7 - 8 years' experience within the mining industry.
Proven underground mining experience is essential.
Valid Wireman's License (advantageous).
Supervisory or foreman experience will be advantageous.
Strong knowledge of mining safety standards and regulations.


Roles and Responsibilities:


Supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance and installation work underground.
Ensure all electrical equipment and systems are maintained to optimal performance standards.
Enforce compliance with mine health and safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments of electrical systems.
Lead and mentor a team of artisans and assistants.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults efficiently to minimize downtime.
Plan and schedule maintenance activities to ensure operational continuity.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support operational targets.
Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and reporting standards.
