ENVIRONMENT:
YOUR strong mechanical knowledge & proficiency with test equipment and hand tools is wanted to be the next Electrical Technician wanted to join the team of a company dedicated to understanding, supporting, and empowering small business owners and entrepreneurs in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and allied industries.
The ideal candidate will have a B-Tech, Diploma, or N5/N6 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in maintenance and installation within the FMCG, Food, Packaging, or Automation industries.
Applicants must have a valid Driver's License as the role will include travel and managing company-leased assets (vehicle, tools, and inventory) responsibly.
DUTIES:
Engineering & Maintenance -
Perform a mix of reactive and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on a wide variety of production and process equipment.
Systems Expertise -
Troubleshoot and repair complex electronics, including Drives, PLCs, and 3-Phase systems.
Installation & Design -
Lead the design, build, and installation of equipment both in-house and at client sites.
Fault Finding -
Utilize advanced diagnostic skills to identify and resolve machine breakdowns efficiently.
Mechanical & Pneumatic Support -
Execute comprehensive mechanical and pneumatic repairs as required.
Client Relations -
Act as a primary point of contact for clients and suppliers; provide training to customers and offer sales support for food processing equipment.
Administrative Diligence -
Maintain accurate service reports, timesheets, and expense claims, ensuring all paperwork is submitted on time.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications -
B-Tech, Diploma, or N5/N6 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience/Skills -
Proven track record in FMCG, Food, or Packaging environments.
Proficiency with test equipment, hand tools, and computer literacy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead projects to completion.
A valid Driver's License is essential; you must be willing to travel and manage company-leased assets (vehicle, tools, and inventory) responsibly.
