ROLE SUMMARY


The job holder will be responsible for carrying out both industrial and domestic electrical installations. He/she will be responsible for proper use, repair and care of tools for electrical and instrumentation maintenance.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


General Operations
Ensure proper care of tools and assets through proper use and accountability as per the company policies and guidelines.
Diagnose malfunctioning equipment and repair at the least possible time.
Support implementation of Electrical/instrumentation installations in the factory ensuring that productivity and efficiency are optimised. d) Always ensure proper upward/downward communication.
Report maintenance requirement to management.
Domestic/Industrial Wiring and Installation Work
Support in the cable structure design, cable tray installation, cable laying, cable termination, electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, and other electrical equipment in in the allocated factory
Support in diagnosis and fixing electrical problems, such as circuit breakers and RCCB trips, faulty wiring, blown fuses and so on.
Support in installing and upgrading consumer units and earthing systems to ensure the electrical system is safe and compliant with current regulations.
Support in conducting regular electrical safety checks and assessments, identifying any problems requiring actions and closing all the open actions.
Support in replacing and upgrading damaged electrical systems.
Installation of electrical panels while observing all standards, regulations and instructions from the supervisor
Proper termination of cables to equipment and panels
Demonstrating high level of integrity, professionalism, time management and adhering to details
Ensure effective communication to ensure that work is carried out to satisfaction.
Keeping up to date with electrical regulations and safety standards and ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with these regulations.
Policies and company guidelines
Lead implementation of all company policies for the maintenance team and ensure employees comply and report any breaches of the policies to management immediately.
Ensure that all protective clothing and safety equipment is fully serviceable and properly used for the health and safety of all maintenance employees.
Ensure that 55 and RA standards are applied, and audit recommendations are implemented.
Ensure good industrial relations with the Power line team by ensuring compliance to the COBP, CBA and all relevant labour laws. Carry out all tasks assigned by the supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM FOR THIS POST)


Diploma in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or their equivalent with 3-5 years' experience in industrial instruments maintenance, Electrical installations, equipment configurations, process automation, troubleshooting and repairs.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must work with minimum supervision.
Possession of EPRA License will be an added advantage
