Job Summary:
Halifield Schools, Maryland Branch, is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Elementary School Librarian to manage and support the school library. The ideal candidate will foster a love for reading, support learning across subjects, and ensure effective use of library resources by pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the elementary school library
Organize, catalogue, and maintain library resources
Support pupils in selecting appropriate reading materials
Promote reading culture through library activities and programs
Assist teachers with instructional resources and research materials
Maintain a quiet, safe, and engaging library environment
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field
Prior experience in a school library or similar role is an advantage
Strong organizational and communication skills
Passion for literacy development and working with children
Basic computer skills and familiarity with library systems
