Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Specialist to join the People & Culture team at CCBA.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
ER and Labour Law
Represent CCBA in labour litigation and case management.
Support HRBPs in managing disciplinary actions, counselling, grievances, and incapacity.
Lead and manage organizational collective bargaining processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives, fair representation of employee interests, and timely resolution of disputes.
People Governance & Compliance
Manage and enforce governance compliance continuously by proactively identifying and addressing people practice risks.
Promote a culture of accountability and ethical conduct throughout the organization, including internal audits and workplace rights.
People Services
Oversee and harness the value of all workplace services (e.g., canteen, uniforms, transport, medical services) to optimally impact the employee experience.
Ensure these services are executed according to agreed-upon standards and motivate the workforce.
Employee Wellness and Engagement
Ensure that CCBA Employee Wellness strategies and initiatives are deployed in-country.
Provide reporting feedback to Group and leadership.
Enhance employee experience by lifting employee engagement levels with targeted initiatives.
People Analytics & Reporting
Act as custodian for Digital HR systems locally, including the rollout of HR systems (e.g., D365).
Ensure uploads, master data governance, and monitoring of People Analytics for the country using tools like Power BI.
Provide insights and coach to HRD/HRBPs to develop HR Analytics capability
Consolidate country KPIs (ESG, CCP) and generate insights to inform group and local strategies.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, or Law
Postgraduate qualification or certification in Labour Law, Employment Relations, or Dispute Resolution
Skills:
Communication Skills.
Strong conflict resolution skills to address and resolve workplace conflicts, disputes, and grievances in a fair and impartial manner.
Ability to negotiate and mediate discussions between parties to reach mutually beneficial agreements and solutions.
In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, employment laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and fairness in employee relations matters.
High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee relations issues and maintaining trust and confidentiality.
Cultural Awareness: Cultural awareness and sensitivity to address diversity and inclusion considerations in employee relations practices and interactions.
Experience:
Experience in mediation, facilitation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques to facilitate productive conversations and resolve conflicts.
Solid foundation in labor and employment law, including litigation experience and knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents related to labor relations, employment contracts, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and other employment matters.
