Job Summary


The Engineering Officer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and machinery used across the company's poultry farms and processing operations.
The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, safety and efficient operation of farm and processing equipment, including electrical systems, motors, generators, control panels, automated feeding systems, ventilation systems, pumps, conveyor belts, refrigeration units and other mechanical and electrical equipment.


Major Responsibilities


Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electromechanical faults.
Maintain electrical panels, wiring, motors, generators and control systems.
Maintain mechanical equipment including pumps, conveyors, ventilation systems and farm machinery.
Assist with installation, commissioning and upgrading of engineering equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
Ensure compliance with engineering, electrical and workplace safety standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and submit periodic reports.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend preventive measures and improvements.
Ensure proper use and accountability of engineering tools, spare parts and maintenance materials.


Job Requirements


OND/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
Technical Certification or Trade Test Certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is an advantage.
Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electrical Systems, Power Distribution or Mechatronics is an added advantage.
Minimum of 2 - 3 years' experience in engineering maintenance, preferably in agribusiness, poultry, manufacturing or food processing.
Practical experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance will be strongly preferred.
Experience with electrical motors, generators, control panels and automated systems.
Experience with pumps, conveyor belts, ventilation systems and other mechanical equipment.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and electromechanical systems.
Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Knowledge of engineering safety procedures and compliance requirements.


General Working Condition


Field-based role with exposure to farm environments.
Work may require handling high-voltage systems and working at heights.
Rotational shifts, including emergency callouts.
