Job Summary
We are seeking Engineering Officers to support the maintenance and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical and electromechanical equipment across poultry farms and processing facilities.
The successful candidates will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment faults, responding to breakdowns and supporting the installation and upgrading of engineering systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electromechanical faults.
Maintain motors, generators, electrical panels, control systems and wiring.
Maintain pumps, conveyors, ventilation systems and other farm/processing equipment.
Support equipment installation, commissioning and upgrades.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs.
Ensure compliance with engineering and workplace safety standards.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare periodic reports.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to reduce downtime.
Ensure proper use and accountability of tools, spare parts and maintenance materials.
Requirements
OND / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in engineering maintenance, preferably in poultry, agribusiness, manufacturing or food processing.
Practical experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance is highly desirable.
Experience with motors, generators, control panels, automated systems, pumps, conveyors and ventilation equipment.
Good troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
Knowledge of engineering safety procedures and compliance requirements.
Technical / Trade Test certification is an advantage.
Working Conditions:
Field-based role within farm and factory environments.
May involve working with high-voltage systems and at heights.
Willingness to work rotational shifts and respond to emergency callouts is required.
