Job Purpose
To support and administer enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery services within ICTS. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, recoverability, and protection of enterprise systems, data, and infrastructure through the effective management of backup environments, disaster recovery processes, monitoring, testing, and operational support.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or in a related field
Relevant backup, disaster recovery or infrastructure certifications will be advantageous
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions
Experience supporting virtualised and enterprise server environments
Experience with disaster recovery procedures, testing and business continuity processes
Experience in the Higher Education environment will be advantageous
Experience with enterprise backup technologies such as Veeam or similar solutions
Familiarity with VMware and virtualisation technologies
Understanding of SAN, storage and enterprise infrastructure environments
Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis
Knowledge of scripting and automation fundamentals
Understanding of ITIL, change management and operational best
Recommendation:
Candidates who are currently studying towards a degree in a relevant IT-related field, and who are expected to complete their qualification within the next year, may be considered
At least three to four (3-4) years' experience in enterprise infrastructure or backup administration environments
