Role overview
We’re seeking an Events Specialist to elevate Abacum’s event strategy, execution, and impact. You’ll design and lead our in-person, and virtual events portfolio — ensuring every event drives brand visibility, pipeline, and customer engagement. You’ll partner closely with marketing, sales, product, and partnerships to deliver top-tier experiences at scale.
Key Responsabilities
Strategy & Planning
Define and scale the events roadmap (conferences, user summits, partner events, dinners, offsites) in alignment with go-to-market objectives
Identify high-impact event and sponsorship opportunities and own the decision process
Set event goals, budgets, KPIs, and measurement frameworks
Craft bold, memorable experiences that set Abacum apart in a crowded market — blending creativity, storytelling, and strong brand presence across every touchpoint.

Execution & Operations
Own end-to-end event execution with operational excellence — including venue sourcing, vendor management, logistics, registration, design, tech, and staffing.
Lead onsite operations to ensure flawless delivery and attendee experience
Invest in booth design and event experiences that make Abacum stand out and create lasting impressions.
Deliver in-person & virtual event capabilities (streaming, live Q&A, engagement features)
Cross-Functional Alignment
Work with product & marketing to integrate product launches, executive presence, and key messaging into events
Partner with sales / CS to align on attendee targeting, agenda design, and conversion goals
Work with partnerships to co-host, co-promote, and build sponsor relationships
Budgeting & ROI
Manage event budgets, P&L, and financial oversight
Analyze event outcomes (pipeline generated, leads, attendee engagement) and drive continuous improvements
Develop frameworks to optimize cost per attendee, sponsor ROI, and margin
Team & Process Building
Establish and document event playbooks, templates, workflows, checklists
Implement event management tools, reporting systems, and processes
Mentor and collaborate with vendors, internal contributors, and event staff
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Required:
4+ years of professional experience in event management, marketing events, or experiential roles
Strong operational & project management skills, with experience running end-to-end events
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Experience building processes, playbooks, systems to scale events
Comfortable in ambiguity; entrepreneurial mindset
Preferred:
Experience in SaaS or B2B tech companies
NYC-based or willing to work onsite as needed
Experience with hybrid / virtual event technology and execution
History of delivering events with measurable business impact (pipeline, brand lift, customer engagement)
Success Metrics
In the first 6–12 months, the Events Specialist will be evaluated on:
Number of events executed and quality of execution
Event-driven pipeline & leads attributable to events
Cost efficiency / margin per event
Adoption of event playbooks and scalable processes
Cross-functional satisfaction: alignment with sales, marketing, product
