The Extension and Farmer Success Manager will lead Vetsark's farmer onboarding, extension support, farm monitoring and farmer performance activities.
The role is responsible for ensuring that farmers achieve strong production, profitability, repayment and retention outcomes. The Manager will supervise extension officers and field agents, monitor farm data, coordinate technical interventions and support farmers throughout each production cycle.


Key Responsibilities
Farmer Onboarding and Portfolio Management


Identify, assess, profile and onboard poultry and aquaculture farmers.
Ensure farmer KYC, farm assessments and baseline data are complete.
Track each farmer from input deployment through production, harvest and repayment.
Recommend farmers for renewal, expansion, suspension or removal.


Extension and Technical Support


Develop and implement farmer training and production-support programmes.
Provide guidance on feeding, vaccination, biosecurity, mortality management and general farm operations.
Coordinate farm visits, virtual support and specialist interventions.
Ensure farmers follow approved production plans and input-use schedules.


Farm Monitoring and Data


Monitor bird or fish numbers, mortality, feed consumption, weight gain, production costs and expected harvest dates.
Ensure field officers submit accurate and timely farm reports.


Farmer Success and Repayment Support


Help farmers improve productivity, reduce losses and increase profitability.
Develop corrective action plans for underperforming farms.
Work with Credit and Recovery teams to prevent defaults.


Harvest and Offtake Coordination


Maintain accurate harvest forecasts.
Conduct pre-harvest assessments.
Coordinate with Commercial, Operations and Offtake teams.
Ensure farmers meet agreed quality and weight standards.


Field Team Leadership


Supervise and recruit extension officers and field agents.
Assign farmer portfolios and geographic coverage.
Set farm-visit, reporting and performance targets.
Review and verify field reports.
Conduct joint farm visits and weekly portfolio review meetings.
Address field-team performance and integrity issues.


Key Performance Indicators


Farmer onboarding and activation rate.
Completion and accuracy of farmer records.
Percentage of scheduled farm visits completed.
Mortality, weight gain and production performance.
Percentage of farmers meeting production milestones.
Farmer profitability and retention.
Repayment and portfolio-at-risk performance.
Harvest forecast accuracy.
Timeliness and quality of field reports.
Field-agent productivity and compliance.


Qualifications and Experience


Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Extension, Fisheries, Aquaculture or a related field.
Five or more years of experience in agricultural extension, livestock production or farmer support.
Experience managing extension officers or field agents.
Strong practical knowledge of poultry production. Aquaculture experience is an advantage.
Experience with agricultural credit, farmer monitoring or structured offtake is desirable.
Ability to use spreadsheets, mobile applications and farm-management systems.
Willingness to travel frequently.
