Qualification
To qualify for appointment a candidate must:
Hold an earned PhD degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
Be at least at the rank of Senior Lecturer or equivalent in a recognized university or institution of higher learning.
Demonstrate a strong record of teaching, research, and academic supervision in the relevant field.
Have experience in examination moderation, curriculum development, and quality assurance processes.
Be registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Not be a current member of staff of Mount Kenya University.
Key responsibilities also include
Duties and responsibilities:
Moderate examination papers and marking schemes before administration.
Review and moderate marked examination scripts, projects, dissertations, theses and other assessments as applicable.
Evaluate the academic standards of programmes and assessments against national and international benchmarks.
Provide independent reports on the quality and standards of academic programmes.
Advise the University on curriculum development, assessment practices, and academic quality enhancement.
Attend examination boards and academic meetings when invited by the University.
Submit annual reports on the conduct and standards of examinations and academic programmes.
