Job Description
A leading industrial equipment and welding solutions company is looking for an experienced External Sales Representative with a strong technical background in welding, boiler-making, or a related engineering field. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales and rentals, developing long-term customer relationships, providing technical support, and identifying new business opportunities within the industrial sector.
Responsibilities:
Drive sales and rentals of industrial equipment, welding products, and tooling solutions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
Provide technical advice, product recommendations, and after-sales support.
Conduct customer site visits, prepare quotations, and follow up on sales opportunities.
Arrange and assist with product demonstrations and customer training.
Achieve monthly sales and gross profit targets.
Develop and execute an effective customer visit schedule.
Generate new business through cold calling and prospecting activities.
Complete all sales administration, including quotations, invoicing, order processing, and back-order management.
Maintain accurate customer records and sales reports.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Perform additional duties as required to support the sales function.
Requirements:
Matric certificate.
Relevant trade qualification such as Welder or Boilermaker Trade Test (welding qualification highly advantageous).
Minimum of 3 - 4 years' external technical sales experience within the welding, engineering, industrial equipment, or related industry.
Strong technical understanding of welding equipment and industrial products.
Excellent customer relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
Strong planning, organisational, and time management abilities.
Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
