About the Role
The Fabrication Technician supports the production of high-quality motorcycle components by carrying out fabrication, welding, and assembly tasks in line with established technical standards and safety procedures. The role ensures that all fabricated parts meet quality and performance specifications while contributing to continuous improvement across production processes.
Key responsibilities
Fabrication: Participate in fabrication activities following established procedures and safety guidelines. Work with various materials, components, and tools to construct motorcycle parts and related assemblies.
Assembly and Fitting: Assemble and align components accurately, ensuring all parts meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and functional requirements.
Welding: Carry out SMAW/MIG welding and other fabrication techniques in line with approved standards to ensure strength, precision, and durability of parts.
Quality Control: Perform inspections and quality checks at each stage of fabrication and assembly. Identify and correct defects, malfunctions, or deviations from standards, and collaborate with the Quality Coordinator team to resolve issues.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve fabrication or assembly issues as they arise, working independently or in consultation with supervisors or engineers to minimize downtime.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Take full responsibility for the custody, organization, and upkeep of the fabrication area, ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are properly stored, accounted for, maintained and safely handled.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including vehicle assembly, engineering, and QC to coordinate workflow, address challenges, and contribute to process improvements.
Process Improvement: Provide feedback on designs, tooling, and fabrication procedures to support continuous improvement in production quality and efficiency.
Safety and Compliance: Follow all health and safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
Documentation: Ensure all fabrication work is properly recorded and that inspection and maintenance logs are updated in line with company procedures.
Minimum requirements:
Diploma in Welding & Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
Proven experience in fabrication and assembly within a manufacturing or mechanical workshop
Proficiency in SMAW/MIG welding techniques and use of fabrication machinery and tools
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, measurements, and tolerances
Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision
Good teamwork, communication, and collaboration abilities
Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and best practices
Physical stamina to handle fabrication tasks and operate machinery safely
