Job Description
The Farm Manager (RAS Operations) will oversee all technical and operational aspects of a 100% Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) fish production facility, including production planning, water quality system oversight, staff supervision, biosecurity enforcement, and achievement of production and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
RAS System Operations Oversight:
Supervise daily operation of RAS filtration and recirculation systems
Monitor biofilter performance and nitrification stability
Oversee dissolved oxygen management and emergency response readiness
Ensure stable ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate control
Work closely with RAS technicians on system optimization
Production Management:
Manage feeding schedules based on biomass and water quality capacity
Monitor growth performance and fish health
Maintain survival rate targets and production KPIs
Biosecurity & Risk Control:
Enforce strict biosecurity protocols
Prevent disease introduction and spread
Oversee quarantine procedures
Staff & Operations Leadership:
Supervise farm technical staff and operations team
Train staff on RAS operational discipline
Enforce SOP and emergency response compliance
Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
Maintain detailed production and water quality records
Track feed usage, FCR, mortality, and production output
Provide weekly production and system performance reports

Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or related field.
Experience (Mandatory):
3 - 5 years of commercial fish farm management experience
Demonstrated experience working in RAS or intensive controlled aquaculture systems
Strong practical knowledge of water quality management in high-density systems
Technical Competencies:
Nitrification cycle management
Biofilter bacterial performance monitoring
RAS mechanical filtration and recirculation systems
Oxygenation and aeration systems
Water chemistry monitoring.
