Job Summary


As a Fertility Nurse Trainee, you will work closely with fertility consultants, embryologists, sonographers, and experienced fertility nurses to support patients throughout their treatment journey.
You will receive structured training in fertility assessments, treatment coordination, patient education, medication support, and clinical procedures.


Key Responsibilities


Support patients through fertility investigations and treatment cycles with sensitivity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Assist with patient consultations, assessments, medical histories, and documentation.
Provide clear patient education on fertility treatment plans, medications, injections, lifestyle advice, appointments, and follow-up care.
Learn to coordinate IVF, IUI, ovulation induction, egg-freezing, donor, and related fertility treatment cycles under supervision.
Assist with medication administration, blood sample collection, vital signs, pregnancy testing, and other nursing duties within your competence.
Support consultant-led procedures and theatre activities, including egg collection and embryo transfer, where applicable.
Communicate appointment schedules, treatment instructions, test results, and follow-up plans in line with clinic protocols.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary fertility team to ensure safe, seamless patient care.
Participate in training, clinical supervision, team meetings, audits, and quality-improvement activities.
Uphold infection prevention, safeguarding, patient-safety, and regulatory standards at all times.


Essential Requirements


Registered Nurse qualification and a valid/current nursing licence with the relevant professional regulatory body.
Genuine interest in fertility, reproductive medicine, and women's health.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical setting.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for patient confidentiality.
Previous experience in fertility, IVF, gynaecology, antenatal, theatre, or reproductive health services.
Basic computer literacy and confidence using electronic medical records.
Willingness to undertake specialist fertility training and ongoing professional development.
