The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in avocado agronomy, strong farmer engagement skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with production and quality standards across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of strategies to integrate farmers and farmer groups into the company's production and supply chain in line with set targets.
Act as the focal point in coordinating and implementing out-grower programs within assigned regions.
Identify, mobilize, and onboard avocado farmers and farmer groups into the company's supply chain.
Develop and deliver training programs to farmers on best agronomic practices, including crop management, nutrition, and post-harvest handling.
Provide technical support and supervise field teams to ensure effective execution of planned activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of farmers, production forecasts, and crop status, including expected volumes and quality.
Coordinate harvesting schedules in consultation with the Head of Department to ensure timely harvesting and delivery of produce.
Ensure proper harvesting and post-harvest handling practices are adhered to at the farm level.
Work closely with the compliance team to ensure adherence to certification standards and regulatory requirements within the assigned regions.
Prepare reports and perform any other duties as assigned in support of the organization's objectives.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in avocado agronomy, preferably within an out-grower framework.
Strong knowledge of crop protection and plant nutrition practices.
Good understanding of horticultural certification standards (e.g., Global G.A.P or similar).
Strong administrative, organizational, and data management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to work independently and within a team in a field-based environment.
