ROLE OVERVIEW
The Field Sales Manager plays an extensive role in driving customer and shopper demand, increasing customer engagement and ensuring we win on the ground. The Field Sales Manager is responsible for managing the field sales operations in a territory or geographical region as well as directing the activities of our 3rd party sales and merchandising agency in order to deliver our targets.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Manage field sales operations across the inland territory and direct the third-party sales and merchandising agency to deliver net sales, distribution, volume growth, forward share and market share targets.
Achieve monthly sales, new account and key product targets, growing volume and market share of the branded Sea Harvest business across major retailers and mid-trade.
Complete store visits weekly and provide feedback on trade.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, store managers, perishable managers and merchandisers through regular in-store visits.
Identify growth opportunities in store.
Ensure product availability, prominent display and maximum facings at point of purchase, maintaining stock levels on focus products and correct stock rotation.
Manage short-dated stock, trade returns and wastage, and drive compliance.
Monitor competitor, category and pricing activity, conduct weekly price surveys and report insights to the Key Account and Marketing teams.
Compile and maintain sales reports and accurate customer records and monitor adherence to territory budgets.
Coordinate wet demos and in-store activations, liaising with Vector and the promotions agency
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 with a Sales and Marketing Certificate / Diploma.
At least 3 years' experience within a sales / target-driven environment.
Sound understanding of sales strategies, concepts and commercial objectives.
Experience in developing and interpreting sales reports.
Computer literacy in MS Office, with high proficiency in MS Excel.
