The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for growing sales within an assigned territory by identifying new customers, maintaining existing customer relationships, promoting CASL products and supplier brands, collecting market intelligence, supporting product demand creation, and ensuring timely follow-up on customer orders and payments.
The role requires strong field presence, product knowledge, customer service, discipline in reporting, and consistent use of the company's field automation system.


Job Description

Sales Growth and Territory Management


Grow sales revenue within the assigned territory in line with daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
Identify, profile, and onboard new customers including stockists, retailers, farms, institutions and farmer groups
Maintain regular visit schedules for existing customers to drive repeat business.
Ensure proper coverage of the assigned territory through planned customer visits and route management.
Support the launch and uptake of new products introduced by the company.
Monitor competitor activity, market pricing, product availability, and customer buying trends.


Customer Relationship Management


Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in the assigned territory.
Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and product-related concerns promptly and professionally.
Follow up on customer orders to ensure timely processing, dispatch, and delivery.
Educate customers on correct product use, dosage, timing, crop application, safety, and expected outcomes.
Support customers with basic agronomic advice and escalate technical matters where necessary.


Demand Creation and Product Promotion


Conduct product demonstrations, farmer trainings, field days, shop activations, and customer clinics where required.
Work closely with supplier representatives to promote strategic products and campaigns.
Support marketing initiatives such as farm clinics, seasonal campaigns, and product promotions.
Identify key crops and seasons in the territory and align sales activities accordingly.
Create awareness for new products, slow-moving products, and priority supplier brands.


Order Collection and Sales Support


Collect customer orders and submit them through the approved company process or field automation system.
Ensure customer orders are accurate, complete, and submitted within required timelines.
Confirm product availability, pricing, delivery requirements, and customer credit status before order processing where applicable.
Follow up with internal teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently.
Ensure customers understand ordering requirements, LPO procedures, payment terms, and delivery timelines.


Credit, Collections and Account Follow-Up


Support the accounts team in following up on outstanding customer balances.
Encourage timely payments within approved credit terms.
Report customers showing delayed payments, disputes, or signs of credit risk.
Ensure customers receive invoices, statements, credit notes, and delivery documents where necessary.
Avoid making unauthorized credit commitments or payment arrangements outside approved company policy.


Customer Data and Field Automation


Use the company's field automation system to record all visits, customer interactions, orders, attendance, and market information.
Capture accurate customer data including business name, contact person, phone number, location, customer category, crop focus, and buying potential.
Update customer records regularly to support better territory planning and segmentation.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly field activity reports as required.
Ensure all field activity is verifiable through the approved reporting tools.


Market Intelligence and Reporting


Report market trends, competitor prices, product movement, customer complaints, and emerging crop issues.
Identify high-potential areas, new farm developments, new stockists, and institutional opportunities.
Provide feedback on customer demand, product gaps, pricing concerns, and competitor promotions.
Share weekly reports on visits made, orders collected, collections followed up, new customers added, and challenges faced.


Compliance and Professional Conduct


Represent Ciira Agrovet Supplies Ltd professionally at all times.
Follow company policies on pricing, credit, customer engagement, reporting, product handling, and ethical sales conduct.
Ensure customers receive accurate product information and avoid misleading claims.
Maintain confidentiality of company information including pricing, customer lists, supplier terms, sales targets, and business strategy.
Safeguard company property including samples, promotional materials, uniforms, devices, motorbike/vehicle, and sales tools.
Observe safety, regulatory, and responsible-use guidelines for agrochemicals and related products.


Minimum Qualifications


Diploma or certificate in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Sales & Marketing, Business Management, Animal Health, or a related field.
Practical knowledge of agro-inputs, crop production, livestock products, or farm supply chains.
At least 1 - 2 years' experience in field sales, agrovet sales, agribusiness, FMCG sales, farm input distribution, or related work.


Added Advantage


Ability to ride a motorbike or drive, with a valid licence.
Experience selling to agro-dealers, stockists, farms, institutions, or farmer groups.
Knowledge of crop protection products, seeds, fertilizers, foliar feeds, and animal health products.
Familiarity with mobile sales reporting tools, ERP systems, or field automation applications.
