Role Description


The Finance Manager will lead the Foundation’s financial operations, ensuring strong financial controls, donor compliance, and disciplined resource management.
This role is execution-heavy and accountability-driven, with a strong focus on cost control, fund optimization, and financial transparency.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting


Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll oversight, reconciliations)
 Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Maintain clean, audit-ready financial records


Budgeting & Cost Control


Develop and track program and organizational budgets
Monitor expenses against budget and enforce cost control measures
Identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving strategies
Ensure procurement and spending align with approved budgets


Donor Compliance & Grant Financial Management


Prepare and manage grant budgets and donor financial reports
Ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines and restrictions
Track restricted vs unrestricted funds usage
Maintain full audit trail for donor funds


Funds Management & Cash Flow Optimization


Monitor and manage organizational cash flow and liquidity
Track inflows (donor funds, grants, partnerships) and outflows
Ensure optimal allocation of funds across programs
Maintain financial buffers for operational continuity


Financial Control & Compliance


Implement and enforce internal financial policies and controls
Ensure compliance with Nigerian regulations and donor requirements
Support audits and ensure clean audit outcomes
Maintain documentation for all transactions


Financial Systems & Process Improvement


Implement and oversee robust financial management systems that support organizational scale and complexity.
 Drive the adoption of modern financial tools, automation, and reporting infrastructure to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Strengthen financial processes, controls, and documentation to meet international nonprofit and donor standards.
Ensure the organization maintains real-time visibility into financial performance across programs and operations.


Qualifications & Experience

Education


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred
Experience
5–8 years in finance/accounting
Experience in NGO or donor-funded environment strongly preferred
Proven experience in budgeting, reporting, and financial controls
