About the Role
Pact Microfinance Bank is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical and results-driven Finance Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will support the Bank's financial operations, reporting, reconciliations, compliance and internal controls while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and accounting records.
Process and post financial transactions and maintain general ledger accounts.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly bank and ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial reports.
Support budgeting, financial forecasting and monitoring of expenditure against approved budgets.
Process invoices, payment requests and other financial documentation, ensuring appropriate approvals and supporting documents.
Monitor accounts payable, receivable and cash flow.
Support tax, statutory and other regulatory financial obligations.
Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial procedures and internal controls.
Provide financial analysis and information to support management decision-making.
Identify process or control gaps and recommend improvements.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.
Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
3 - 4 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or a similar role.
Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN/ACCA is an advantage.
Experience in the banking, microfinance or financial services industry is highly desirable.
Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls.
Knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
High level of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgement.
