Role Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Audit Management and Internal Control Officer to join our Finance team. The role supports the Finance Specialist in managing donor and external audits, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and overseeing the implementation of audit findings. The Officer will also manage the archiving system, ensuring it meets internal and external requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing the audit timetable based on donor and external audit requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate audits to ensure timely completion.
- Draft responses to audit findings and management letters.
- Track audit findings and follow up on their timely implementation.
- Maintain an efficient archiving system, ensuring that documents are 'audit-ready' and easily accessible.
- Guide the Operations department to ensure non-financial documents required for donor audits are maintained and available.
- Design tools to communicate and monitor donor requirements across all functions.
- Review internal control compliance in all offices and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure compliance with effort reporting requirements and the availability of auditable documents.
- Participate in global audit assignments and stay updated on developments in accounting, auditing, and donor regulations.
- Ensure efficient management of audit processes to avoid disallowances.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting (Essential).
Experience and Skills:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in auditing and/or accounting in the humanitarian sector.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage urgent needs.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of major donor compliance regulations (EU, OCHA, ECHO, BHA, BMZ, etc.).
