Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Transaction Management
Process and review financial transactions including payments, receipts, and journal entries.
Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
Monitor daily financial activities and ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place.
Support disbursement processes and verify completeness of supporting documents.
Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations (bank, ledger, and suspense accounts).
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and schedules.
Maintain up-to-date financial records for audit and reporting purposes.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage vendor payments and ensure timely processing of invoices.
Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances where necessary.
Maintain accurate records of payables and receivables.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to mitigate financial risks.
Ensure proper segregation of duties and compliance with approval limits.
Budgeting & Financial Support
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
Track actual expenses against budget and report variances.
Provide financial data and analysis to support management decision-making.
Process Improvement & Support
Continuously review finance processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Support implementation of financial systems and process enhancements.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions
Reconciliation completion and discrepancy resolution time
Compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
Timeliness of financial reporting
Reduction in financial errors and operational risks
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2 - 4 years' experience in finance operations, accounting, or similar role (preferably in banking or microfinance)
Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA - in view or completed) is an added advantage
