The successful candidate must be a self starter and have at least 5 years of experience working with Private equity and Renewable Energy project developments within East Africa. The duties will include analyzing financial data and transactions, performing sensitivity analysis and other ad hoc tasks, as well as creating and conducting presentations for teams based on the results of these findings.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain financial models for the project portfolio, including operational and liquidity forecasting models.
Conduct portfolio performance analysis, KPI tracking, and scenario/stress testing to assess returns and resilience.
Support and lead due diligence with lenders, including refinancing, debt structuring, and covenant negotiations.
Prepare financial reports, covenant reporting, and presentations for senior management and investors.
Support investment decisions through market analysis, regulatory insights, and evaluation of new opportunities.
Participate in due diligence for acquisitions, investments, and portfolio expansion activities.
Build and implement portfolio optimization models to support asset allocation, acquisitions, and divestments.
Drive data management and automation, including dashboards, data integration processes, and workflow efficiencies.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
Minimum 5+ years' experience in financial analysis and modelling
Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
Experience working in multi-jurisdictional environments (energy sector experience preferred)
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
Knowledge of VBA or other programming tools is an advantage
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills with full professional proficiency in English, and ability to work both independently and in teams
