Job Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, budgeting, internal controls, and effective financial management.
The role supports strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and maintaining the financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Monitor company cash flow, expenses, and financial performance.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Establish and maintain strong internal control systems.
Provide financial advice to management on investments, cost reduction, and profitability.
Support business growth strategies through financial analysis.
Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
A Master's Degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Professional certification such as Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN)
4 - 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position is an advantage.
Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
