Define Financial and Operational strategy
Develop and execute processes to support existing and new strategies to ensure the sustainability of JDI.
Continuous evaluation and simplifying of the JDI business and financial model.
Determine actions and practices to benefit the business.
Evaluate business risks and implement control measures.
Develop and maintain a strict cost management culture
Financial Management
Manage the strategic financial plan.
Apply Commercial and Risk management approach in decision making.
Be involved in pricing and discounting decisions.
Budget management in line with the approved strategy and the Delegation of authority.
Manage financial targets of the business, departments and branches.
Interpret the financial implications of decisions and convey to management of company.
Analytical review and interpretation of management data.
Complete balance sheet management.
Responsible for Debtor Management (Applications and facilities approval, Outstanding balances, provisions, collections).
Perform forex and international market transactions and analysis when required.
Maintain optimal margins on product ranges according to company mandate.
Ensure compliance with VAT, income tax, and other statutory submissions.
Financial Planning, Reporting and Process OptimisationÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ
Financial planning and Treasury management.
Monthly, quarterly (Board) bi-annual and annual reporting.
Manage accounting practices inline with IFRS and Company Law requirements.
Responsible for reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
Responsible for the accuracy of the fixed asset register.
Manage accounting practices, systems and procedures (continuously review and implement).
Responsible for all Insurance claims and Insurance related matters.
Continuously assess and enhance reporting tools for relevancy and effectiveness.
Oversee and monitor Service Level Agreements and other contracts.
Oversee the preparation and management of year-end reports (Audit process).
Manage Relationships, Systems and Personnel matters
Performance Management: Set targets and goals to all business units and manage the outcomes in line with the strategy.
General HR Functions (including contracts, management of policies and procedures, pension fund inputs and management, disciplinary code and actions, Renumeration calculations, etc.)
General IT Functions.
Ensure compliance to legislation (This position also holds the Compliance Officer appointment and Director of the company)
Stakeholder relationships (Auditors, Lawyers, other services suppliers, etc).
Requirements
Professional certifications as a Chartered Accountant (CA).
At least 5 years' experience in financial and business management.
Appropriate experience in the agricultural sector and "Equip" accounting system will be beneficial.
