Weatherford have a great opportunity for an experienced Fishing Field Specialist IV to join the team in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.The Fishing Field Specialist IV is a senior-level technical position responsible for executing complex fishing operations to recover lost or stuck equipment in oil and gas wells. The Field Specialist will provide expert technical support and operational execution of fishing tools and whipstock services to Weatherford clients across the region.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute complex fishing operations to recover lost or stuck equipment in wellbores using specialized tools and techniques
Perform technical analysis of fishing scenarios and develop appropriate recovery strategies
Operate specialized fishing equipment including overshots, spears, junk baskets, magnets, mills, and cutting tools
Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients on fishing operations and tool selection
Conduct pre-job planning meetings and risk assessments with clients and operational teams
Prepare detailed job reports, technical documentation, and post-job analyses
Train and mentor junior field specialists on fishing tool operations and safety procedures
Ensure compliance with all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and procedures
Maintain fishing tool inventory and equipment in optimal working condition
Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions in challenging field environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, and operations
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years' experience in the field execution and coordination of downhole fishing, whipstocks and intervention tools.
Comprehensive knowledge of fishing, intervention, completions, drilling and workover field operations.
Specific knowledge of tools and equipment to be used in open and cased hole fishing operations, side tracking and plug and abandonment equipment and techniques.
A self-motivated individual with the ability to work unsupervised with a strong emphasis on team work.
Resilient, able to cope in a difficult and harsh working environment.
The ability to communicate with peers and supervisors.
Ability to work in a highly safety sensitive environment and complying with both Company and Client safety standards.
QHSE procedural knowledge.
Good employee interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Basic knowledge of relevant computer software.
Problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
An Engineering degree would be beneficial.
