We're on the lookout for a Fitter to perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment to ensure optimum plant availability.
As a Fitter you will be responsible for:
Maintenance, overhaul and repair of machinery and equipment
Fit, assemble, grind and shape metal parts and sub-assemblies to maintain production machines and other equipment
Scope and plan work orders as required
Complete works orders
Adhere to all Engineering and Safety standards
Perform fault finding on equipment and participate in RCA's
Perform daily and weekly route and plant inspections; and report all defects
Maintain a high level of housekeeping
What are we looking for?
Matric plus full N2 Mechanical Engineering Certificate (All 4 full subjects completed)
N3 Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage
Recognised Fitter Trade Test Certificate
Sappi Internal Artisan Development Program or Apprenticeship would be an advantage
2 years post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering/industrial environment
Valid driver's licence would be an advantage
Rotable overhaul experience would be an advantage
Roll Fitting experience would be an advantage
SAP experience in a manufacturing industry would be an advantage
Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities
The ability to work under pressure while following all procedures and standards
Must be able to perform standby duties, and at times required to work overtime at short notice
