We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company seeking a Fleet Administrator to support efficient, compliant and cost-effective fleet and distribution operations.

Role Summary

The Fleet Administrator will oversee fleet performance, supplier management, compliance, reporting and cost optimization while ensuring safe and efficient vehicle operations across multiple sites.

NB:One Year Contract with possibility of renewal.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Cost & Performance Management


Monitor fleet efficiency, fuel consumption and telematics data to drive cost savings.
Ensure timely servicing, tyre management and preventive maintenance.
Promote safe driving behavior and support driver training initiatives.
Analyze fleet data and prepare performance reports (spend vs budget, utilization, uptime).


Supplier & Stakeholder Management


Manage relationships with fleet suppliers, repair vendors and service providers.
Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues and follow up on payments.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance and Distribution teams to ensure value for money and operational efficiency.


Compliance & Risk Management


Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (permits, insurance, inspections, speed governors, driver licenses).
Support export compliance (e.g., phytosanitary certification).
Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.
Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.


Fleet Lifecycle Management


Support acquisition and disposal of vehicles in collaboration with Procurement.
Recommend fleet replacement strategies to optimize operating costs.


Process Improvement & Reporting


Maintain fleet monitoring systems and generate regular performance reports.
Engage drivers and internal stakeholders to address operational challenges.
Provide monthly reports on compliance, utilization, incidents and spend.

Vehicle repair & maintenance spend vs budget
Fuel efficiency across sites
Vehicle uptime & utilisation
Compliance with statutory requirements
Accuracy and timeliness of fleet records


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience


Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field.
Professional membership (e.g., KISM) is an added advantage.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
Knowledge of imports, fleet management and distribution operations.
