Job Description
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in high-speed multicolour flexographic printing machines preferably from the printing and packaging industry.
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years' experience as a machine operator
Proven experience as a flexographic printer or similar role in a printing and packaging environment.
Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes and multicolour flexographic printing machines.
Strong understanding of flexographic inks, stereo tapes and pantone colours.
Ability to read and interpret job cards and printing specifications.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player in fast pace environment.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy printing equipment and operate printing equipment.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet production deadlines.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate multicolour flexographic printing machines including mounting and setting of stereos to produce high-quality printed materials.
Monitor print quality throughout production run and perform adjustments as needed.
Coordinate with production team to ensure timely completion of print orders.
Perform housekeeping tasks, maintain and clean printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during printing process.
Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform routine maintenance including preventative maintenance on printing machines to ensure longevity and proper functioning.
