GENERAL Job Description :

This position has the overall responsibilities of:


Build, steward, and expand strong relationships with existing and prospective donors, foundations, and partners to ensure sustained and long-term funding support. Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals.
Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals and donor reports aligned with organizational strategy and program priorities.
Monitor fundraising performance, ensure data integrity, report to senior management and the Board, and strengthen internal fundraising capacity.


SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Fractional Fundraising & Donor Relations Specialist is responsible and accountable for the following core job elements:


Cultivate, steward, and grow relationships with existing and potential donors, foundations, and partners through personalized communications, updates, and events.
Research and identify new funding opportunities to diversify and expand revenue streams. Maintain a portfolio of funding opportunities and donor databases
Prepare and submit compelling grant proposals, donor reports, and fundraising communications.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and program teams to ensure alignment of fundraising strategies with organizational goals and programmatic priorities.
Support donor stewardship activities, including regular updates, engagement events, and personalized communications.
Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular progress reports to senior management and the Board.
Maintain accurate and organized donor records and fundraising databases.
Mentor and build capacity within the fundraising team or volunteers, as applicable.
Represent the organization at donor meetings, conferences, and networking events when required.


EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS:


An undergraduate degree in business, communications, or a related field, with over eight (8) years in NGO fundraising and donor relations, including proven success in securing grants.
Must have proven high-level fundraising experience in international NGOs, including those of 501 (c) (3) registered.
Evidence of writing winning grant proposals and demonstrated success in meeting fundraising targets and managing donor relations.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising plans.
Experience using fundraising databases and digital tools for donor management and reporting.
Must be willing to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality results within a part-time engagement.
Deep familiarity with Kenyan NGO regulatory frameworks, donor management and best practices in fundraising.
Demonstrated ability to maintain independence, objectivity, and integrity.
A mature individual with outstanding analytical skills and exceptional communication and presentation talents.
