About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager who is fluent in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English to lead the operations of our hotel.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, driving profitability, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and serving as the primary liaison between local operations and Chinese-speaking management, investors, guests, and business partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel.
Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by maintaining high service standards.
Develop and implement business strategies to improve occupancy, revenue, and profitability.
Manage and supervise all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Security, and Human Resources.
Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, control costs, and ensure revenue targets are achieved.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Chinese-speaking guests, investors, business partners, and corporate clients.
Translate and communicate business information effectively between Chinese-speaking stakeholders and local management teams.
Recruit, train, coach, and develop department heads and employees to achieve operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with company policies, Nigerian labour laws, health and safety regulations, and hospitality standards.
Drive business development initiatives and establish strategic partnerships to increase hotel patronage.
Prepare operational and financial reports for senior management.
Resolve guest complaints and operational issues promptly and professionally.
Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Hotel Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of 7 - 10 years' progressive experience in hotel management, with at least 3 - 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Proven experience managing hotel operations and achieving business growth.
Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in hotel management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of Nigerian hospitality regulations is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with Chinese-owned businesses or international hospitality brands.
Professional certification in Hospitality Management is an advantage.
