Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and produce high-quality visual communication materials that support the organisation's programmes, campaigns, events, publications, and digital presence.
Ensure consistency in the application of the organisation's brand identity across all communication materials and platforms.
Contribute creative ideas and visual concepts that enhance storytelling and audience engagement.
Support the continuous improvement and evolution of the organisation's visual identity while maintaining brand integrity.
Graphic Design and Content Production
Design creative assets for social media platforms, websites, digital campaigns, presentations, reports, newsletters, publications, and promotional materials.
Produce graphics, infographics, illustrations, banners, posters, flyers, brochures, factsheets, and other communication products as required.
Design event branding materials, including backdrops, banners, invitation cards, certificates, presentation templates, and event collateral.
Create visually appealing layouts for reports, publications, case studies, policy briefs, annual reports, and donor-facing materials.
Design branded merchandise and promotional materials in line with organisational requirements
Digital and Website Content
Develop visual content that enhances the organisation's website, digital campaigns, and online platforms.
Work closely with the Multimedia Production Manager to ensure the organisation's digital platforms remain visually engaging, current and aligned with communication objectives.
Optimise graphics and visual content for different digital platforms and audience needs
Motion Graphics and Multimedia Support
Conceptualise and develop motion graphics, animated explainers, title sequences, lower thirds, and other visual elements for video productions.
Collaborate with videographers, producers, and content creators to develop engaging multimedia content.
Support video production workflows through the creation of graphic assets, visual effects, and animation elements where required.
Creative Planning and Collaboration
Participate in content planning meetings and contribute creative direction for campaigns, stories, documentaries and communication initiatives.
Work closely with communication, programmes and production teams to translate technical information into visually engaging content.
Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting agreed timelines and quality standards.
Innovation and Quality Assurance
Continuously seek innovative ways to improve visual storytelling and audience engagement.
Review and quality-check all design outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to organisational standards.
Stay updated on emerging design trends, technologies, tools and best practices relevant to digital communications and media production.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain an organised archive of design files, templates and brand assets.
Support organisational events and communication activities as required.
Perform any other duties assigned within the scope of the role.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or a Diploma in Graphic Design or a related field.
Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in graphics design.
Membership with the Media Council of Kenya is an added advantage.
