Key Responsibilities
The role holder's duties will include but not limited to:
Merchants acquisition - MNCs & POS.
Formulation of the tactical plan & roll out of the merchant strategy across the country within multi-national cos & all POS providers including Banks & software provider touch points.
Ownership & achievements of daily, monthly, quarterly & annual targets within the segment.
Identifying potential prospects & carrying physical visits & pitches to ensure closure within the niche.
Ensuring KYC due diligence of all the prospects to ensure compliance before tie ups and follow through on contract closure.
Merchant Training & Management
Responsible for training of all tied up merchants i.e. both owners & business handlers.
Responsible for ensuring that all appointed merchants fully adhere to their roles & responsibilities.
Ensuring refresher trainings on key business developments & in event of handler turnover at the merchant point.
3rd Party Partner management
Close supervision of 3rd party partners in charge of providing POS payment software to all merchant touch points.
Supporting the 3rd parties to ensure target achievement.
Working closely with all banks with POS device to establish collaborative relationships to ensure Airtel money presence at all touch points where their POS terminals are present.
Revenue growth & business review
Ensuring that all set up merchant outlets across the country are active and operational.
Establishing collaborative relationships with all tied up partners to ensure business efficiency.
Establishing clear sales objectives & value proposition for all merchant prospects.
Working together with the Support Executive to ensure performance tracking & timely reports availability to individual merchants.
Merchant visibility
Ensuring that all appointed merchants are well branded & product fully merchandised.
Scaling up of visibility at all existing merchant touch points i.e. replacement of all faded material.
Reporting & feedback
Timely reports pertaining to segment performance with scale up plan.
Routine merchant partners review & transactions growth initiatives across the segment.
Qualifications
Academic and Qualifications and Experience
Must have:
Bachelors in marketing, Finance, Business, Sales, Commerce or Administration or Equivalent
Masters in business administration would be a preferred additional qualification.
Relevant Experience
An upwards of 10 years of professional experience with at Business development/sales preferably in FMCG.
