Job Summary
The Hatchery Officer will support hatchery operations by ensuring proper egg handling, incubation, hatching, chick processing, and adherence to biosecurity and quality standards to achieve optimal hatchability and chick quality.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor incubation and hatching processes.
Ensure proper handling and storage of fertile eggs.
Maintain hatchery hygiene and biosecurity standards.
Monitor temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems.
Assist in chick processing, vaccination, and dispatch activities.
Record daily hatchery data and prepare reports.
Identify and report operational or equipment issues promptly.
Ensure compliance with company SOPs and safety procedures.
Requirements
HND / B.Sc Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or related field.
3 years' experience in hatchery or poultry operations.
Basic understanding of hatchery equipment and incubation processes.
Good record-keeping and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and in shifts when required.
