Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Machakos for a Head Chef at Kitonga Garden Resort. The Head Chef will be responsible for creating and designing menus, preparing high-quality dishes, managing kitchen operations, and supervising a team of culinary staff. Additional responsibilities include ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are strictly upheld, managing inventory, collaborating with suppliers, and working closely with management to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Experience in menu creation, food preparation, and developing innovative recipes
Proficiency in kitchen management, inventory control, and supplier collaboration
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Leadership and team management skills, including training and supervising kitchen staff
Excellent organizational and time-management skills to maintain a smooth workflow
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with management
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in the culinary field
Formal culinary training, degree, or certification is required
