Role Description


We are looking for a motivated leader who can serve in the role of a Head Nurse with proven rehabilitative experience.
The Head Nurse is a senior nursing professional responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the efficient operation of the Nursing department.
The Head Nurse plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality patient care, managing resources, and promoting a positive work environment.


Responsibilities
Leadership and management:


Provide leadership to the nursing team, including Matron, Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses (RNs), and Nursing Assistants.
Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (physicians, administrators, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists etc.) to ensure seamless patient care.


Staff supervision:


Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
Assign duties and responsibilities to nurses based on their skills and qualifications.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any performance issues.


Patient care:


Monitor patient care activities to ensure adherence to standards and protocols.
Assist with complex patient cases and provide guidance to nursing staff.
Ensure patient safety and comfort.


Resource Management:


Manage staffing levels, schedules, and shift assignments.
Allocate resources efficiently (e.g., supplies, equipment, medications).
Monitor budgetary constraints and optimize resource utilization.


Quality Improvement:


Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Participate in audits, reviews, and accreditation processes.
Address any deficiencies promptly.


Communication and collaboration:


Foster effective communication within the nursing team and with other departments.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Act as a liaison between nursing staff and hospital administration.


Professional Development:


Stay updated on nursing best practices, regulations, and advancements.
Encourage ongoing education and professional growth among staff.
Lead by example and maintain a positive work environment.


Qualifications


At least Post Graduate Degree in Nursing or other related courses.
A valid Nursing License (RN or equivalent).
At least 15 years of Nursing Clinical Experience and at least 5 years in a supervisorial role
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
