We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic and meticulous Head of the Accounts Department to lead our finance and accounting operations.
This pivotal role requires an expert understanding of financial reporting, regulatory compliance within the capital markets, and the specialized accounting treatment necessary for an exchange environment.
This role is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity and transparency of the Exchange.


Key Responsibilities

The Head of Accounts will be responsible for, but not limited to:


Financial Leadership & Reporting: Directing the preparation of all internal and external financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual), management accounts, and specialized regulatory returns in accordance with IFRS/GAAP standards.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all financial activities, reporting, and statutory obligations comply with the specific requirements of the Exchange, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other relevant financial regulators.
General Ledger & Control: Overseeing the entire accounting cycle, including journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset management, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and all financial data.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Leading the annual budgeting process, performing detailed variance analysis, and preparing reliable financial forecasts to support strategic business decisions by the Executive Management.
Audit Management: Acting as the primary liaison for both internal and external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and the timely resolution of all audit queries and control weaknesses.
Taxation & Treasury: Ensuring compliance with all local and national tax regulations. Monitoring the Exchange's cash flow position, managing bank relationships, and advising on treasury operations.
Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and developing the Accounts Department staff, fostering a culture of adherence to strict financial controls and professional ethics.


Qualifications and Requirements


Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree (MBA/M.Sc.) is an advantage.
Professional Certification: Mandatory possession of a recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership or management role. Prior experience within a Securities Exchange, Commodities Exchange, Clearing House, or regulated Capital Market Financial Institution is essential.
