Job Purpose Statement
The Head of Data Governance & Management provides strategic leadership in defining and executing LOOP DFS's Data Governance and Management framework. The role is responsible for setting the vision, policies, and standards for enterprise data to ensure accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance across the business and its subsidiaries.
This role will drive the implementation of LOOP DFS's Data Governance strategy and support the Executive Director in embedding data-driven decision-making across business units. It will also ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and protection requirements across multiple markets, positioning data as a strategic business asset that drives innovation and growth.
Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)
Financial (30%)
Develop and execute the Data Governance vision, strategy, and implementation roadmap.
Align Data Governance objectives with business goals and priorities.
Oversee budget planning and allocation for data management initiatives.
Champion data as a strategic asset and ensure ROI on data investments.
Customer (20%)
Build consensus and alignment around data strategy across the leadership community.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support business and regulatory needs.
Promote a strong data culture focused on transparency, quality, and accountability.
Internal Business Processes (40%)
Design and implement a robust Data Management Framework (DMF) covering data architecture, quality, privacy, and metadata management.
Lead the development and enforcement of data-related policies, standards, and governance processes.
Drive compliance with regulatory and security requirements across operating markets.
Oversee the Data Governance organization, resolving escalated issues and ensuring performance tracking.
Learning and Growth (10%)
Lead and develop a community of Data Stewards and Privacy Champions.
Establish a Data Management Centre of Excellence to promote learning and best practice.
Build organizational capability in data governance and analytics through targeted development and coaching.
Job Specifications
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Management, or related field.
Master's degree or Diploma in Data Management/Data Science will be an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications:
Certification in Project Management or SQL preferred.
Knowledge of Informatics Tools Suite (Tableau, SAS, Oracle, SAP, etc.) desirable.
Certification such as CISA, CISM, or C-RISK will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in data governance, information architecture, or data quality management.
At least 5 years in a senior leadership role influencing data governance direction.
Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing enterprise-wide data policies and frameworks.
