The Role

As Head of Department- Mathematics, Digital Technologies & Core Sciences, you will be the academic leader for all mathematics, digital technologies and core science content produced by EES from script approval through to final video review and publication.

Your remit spans three connected areas of the curriculum: Mathematics, Digital Technologies, and the Core Sciences. Across these, you will hold academic oversight of the full range of relevant junior and senior secondary subjects from foundational numeracy and computing through to the core laboratory sciences ensuring every lesson meets the same standard of accuracy and rigour, whatever the subject.

What You'll Do

Recruit and onboard your subject teachers

Identify, assess and recommend qualified mathematics, digital technologies and core science teachers for engagement by the Project Manager
Conduct academic screening, subject mastery, on-camera communication style, curriculum familiarity
Onboard recruited teachers onto our content framework: lesson structure, delivery style, filming protocols

Set the academic standard

Define and document the content standards framework for all mathematics, digital technologies and core science subjects across JSS1 - SS3, aligned to WAEC/NECO/BECE/NERDC
Approve every teacher's lesson script and outline before filming begins, never after
Ensure scope, sequencing and depth are appropriate across the full library, including correct treatment of formulae, experiments, calculations and scientific terminology

Review and approve every lesson

Review filmed lessons before they enter post-production, with clear, structured written feedback
Assess each lesson for factual and scientific accuracy, curriculum coverage, instructional clarity and pacing for secondary students
Verify the accuracy of worked examples, practical demonstrations, diagrams and calculations before publication
Conduct a final review of edited lessons before they go live on the platform
Maintain a QA log tracking every lesson's status through the pipeline

Supervise, coach and report

Provide constructive academic supervision and feedback to your teachers throughout production
Escalate persistent quality issues to the Project Manager early and with documentation
Provide a weekly written status update on content review progress
Collaborate with the Arts & Humanities HOD to maintain consistent quality across the full content library

This is more than reviewing content. You'll be shaping the scientific voice of a platform thousands of Nigerian students will rely on. We need someone who cares deeply about accuracy, rigour and the dignity of how we teach.
