Key performance areas
Develop an annual business and strategic plan and manage its implementation, including academics, social responsibility and community programmes, school data, marketing, facilities management, health and safety, brand image, preschool policies and procedures and aftercare
Plan and manage school administration and academics, including planners and timetables, curriculum implementation and monitoring, work schemes, assessment plans, learner observations, staff duties and communication
Manage and mentor staff, including recruitment, appraisals, disciplinary issues, skills development, mediation, retention and employment equity
Manage interventions and disciplinary processes according to Curro policies and procedures
Manage the school finances, including developing and managing the school budget and managing payroll
Qualifications, experience and skills
Diploma or degree in foundation phase education or diploma in ECD, or an equivalent (minimum NQF level 6)
Minimum 3-5 years' experience as head of a preschool or minimum 5 years' experience as a preschool teacher
Knowledge of the CAPS curriculum
Proven management and leadership skills and business acumen
Ability to lead and mentor staff members
Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills
Willing and able to work extended hours
Proficient in Microsoft Office
SACE-registered
Clear criminal record
