Role Objectives:
This executive management role sits at the centre of the Human Capital function. The Head: People Strategy and Transformation is accountable for shaping and delivering Human Capital's transformation agenda and for providing strategic, operational, and governance enablement to the Chief People Officer (CPO) to lead Human Capital as a business-critical function at ExCo level.
The role blends programme leadership and change architecture with executive thought partnership—translating the People Strategy into an integrated portfolio of initiatives that strengthens organisational effectiveness, employee experience, leadership capability, culture, and Hollard's broader social impact commitments.
The incumbent will act as a trusted thought partner and delivery leader, owning complex, cross functional initiatives that shape how Human Capital delivers value to the organisation. The role requires the maturity and credibility to engage confidently at ExCo level, while also possessing the pragmatism to drive execution at pace.
Advert Summary
Build the future-fit People function. Make it land. Make it last.
If you're the person who turns strategy into a governed, moving portfolio — the one who can hold multiple complex workstreams without losing the story, the sequencing or the outcomes — this is your moment. At Hollard, our Group People & Culture agenda is bold and deeply human. We're looking for a People Strategy and Transformation Executive to sit at the centre of it, partnering closely with our Chief People Officer to shape priorities, mobilise leaders through change, and drive delivery that the organisation can feel.
Why this role matters
You'll build the operating rhythm behind the Group People strategy — governance, cadence, decisions, and delivery.
You'll help us evolve from traditional HR to true strategic people partnership — future-ready, data-led and leader-enabled.
You'll sit at the intersection of AI, workforce transition and human experience — ensuring the change is adopted, not just announced.
What you'll do
Design and embed Human Capital's target operating model and governance.
Run a prioritised transformation portfolio with clear benefits realisation and decision discipline.
Lead change across culture, leadership effectiveness, employee experience (EX) and People Value Proposition (PVP).
Enable HC technology transformation and embed people analytics capability that leaders trust.
Own the people readiness workstream for the AI and automation transition, in partnership with Group IT.
Act as a trusted thought partner and provide executive decision support to the Chief People Officer.
Required Knowledge and Experience
What you'll bring
8 - 10+ years in Human Capital leadership, transformation, strategy or consulting (financial services/insurance preferred).
A track record of leading concurrent, high-stakes workstreams — with delivery to match the ambition.
Exposure to technology-enabled transformation (HRIS/HCM, digital EX, analytics, governance) and what it means for people.
Credibility and narrative quality to engage confidently at senior and executive levels.
Fluency in the next-generation People function: AI-enabled workforce design, skills-based models, integrated performance/experience architecture, and the shift to strategic people partnership.
Educational Requirements
Qualifications (nice to have, valued to bring)
Relevant undergraduate degree (Commerce, Business Science, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources or equivalent).
Postgraduate qualification (MBA/MBL or equivalent) preferred.
Programme or project management certification (PMP, MSP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) advantageous.
Certification or self-directed learning in people analytics, AI-enabled HR, or workforce strategy highly valued.
