Job Summary

We seek the services of an experienced professional to work with us as Head, Recovery.

The Head, Recovery will provide strategic leadership for the Bank's loan recovery and collections function, with responsibility for improving portfolio quality, reducing delinquency, and maximizing recoveries from non-performing and overdue loans. The successful candidate will develop effective recovery strategies while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's policies.

Key Responsibilities


Develop and implement effective loan recovery and collections strategies.
Lead the recovery of delinquent, overdue, and non-performing loans.
Monitor portfolio delinquency, recovery performance, and collection targets.
Develop and implement appropriate recovery plans for challenging accounts.
Oversee customer engagement, negotiations, restructuring, and repayment arrangements.
Ensure proper documentation and escalation of recovery cases in line with approved procedures.
Work closely with Credit, Loan Monitoring, Risk, Legal, and Branch teams to improve portfolio quality.
Oversee legal recovery actions and engagement with external recovery partners where required.
Prepare periodic recovery performance reports for Management and the Board.
Ensure recovery activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the Recovery team.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
Master's degree is an added advantage.
Minimum of 7 - 10 years' relevant experience, including experience in a senior or managerial recovery/collections role.
Strong experience in loan recovery, debt collection, credit management, or portfolio management within a bank, microfinance bank, or other financial institution.
Proven track record of improving loan recovery and reducing portfolio delinquency.
