SANY Nigeria is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Specialist to establish and lead HSE practices across our operations in Nigeria.
This role will support our warehouse, assembly yards, equipment offloading activities, logistics operations, maintenance facilities, and field service operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing HSE systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting safe work practices, and driving a strong safety culture across the organization.


Key Responsibilities
HSE Systems & Compliance


Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments, audits, inspections, and reporting systems.
Establish safety standards and controls across company operations.
Ensure compliance with applicable HSE regulations and requirements.


Operational & Equipment Safety


Drive safe working practices across warehouses, workshops, assembly yards, logistics operations, and field activities.
Support safe equipment offloading, lifting, rigging, transportation, and maintenance activities.
Monitor workplace hazards and implement appropriate control measures.


Incident Management


Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations.
Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate incident records and reporting.


Training & Continuous Improvement


Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and emergency drills.
Develop emergency response and evacuation plans.
Monitor HSE performance and recommend improvement initiatives.


Profile Requirements


Bachelor's Degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
NEBOSH IGC or equivalent recognized HSE certification is required.
ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IOSH, OSHA, First Aid, or Fire Safety certifications are advantageous.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in HSE roles within heavy equipment, construction, mining, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, engineering, or related industries.
Strong experience conducting risk assessments, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Good understanding of warehouse safety, workshop safety, equipment operations, lifting and rigging activities, contractor management, and environmental compliance.
Strong communication, reporting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel to operational sites when required.
