Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy-duty machinery.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in equipment.
Conduct repairs and component replacements as required.
Equipment Inspection:
Carry out routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major failures.
Test and verify equipment performance after repairs.
Troubleshooting:
Identify root causes of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system malfunctions.
Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to resolve issues efficiently.
Field Service Support:
Provide on-site technical support for machinery breakdowns when required.
Ensure timely resolution of field service requests.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
Complete service reports and submit them to the service supervisor.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations.
Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and machinery.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with service advisors, parts departments, and supervisors to ensure efficient service delivery.
Support other technicians and assist in training junior staff when required.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
Relevant technical training in heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
Experience:
3 - 5 years of experience working with heavy-duty machinery or construction equipment.
Experience with brands such as excavators, loaders, forklifts, generators, or similar equipment is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
Experience using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
