High School Chemistry Teacher at an Internationally Accredited School - High School Chemistry Teacher
An internationally accredited school in Ibadan is seeking a qualified and passionate High School Chemistry Teacher to deliver rigorous and engaging instruction while preparing students for academic success in Chemistry. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching secondary school Chemistry and a strong understanding of the CIE Chemistry curriculum (IGCSE & A Levels).
Key Responsibilities
Teach Chemistry at the high school level with a strong focus on CIE Chemistry (IGCSE & A Levels).
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving.
Prepare students for internal assessments, practical examinations, mock examinations, and external examinations.
Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with curriculum standards.
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and maximize student achievement.
Conduct laboratory practicals, demonstrations, and experiments while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Monitor student progress and provide targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities.
Maintain accurate academic records, assessment data, and student reports.
Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and academic excellence.
Participate in extracurricular activities, science fairs, STEM initiatives, and other school programs as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Science Education, or a related field (Master's degree is an advantage).
Relevant teaching certification or licensure.
Minimum of two (2) years of high school Chemistry teaching experience.
Strong knowledge of the CIE Chemistry curriculum, including IGCSE and A Level programmes.
Experience preparing students for external examinations.
Strong laboratory management and practical science teaching skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Familiarity with AP Chemistry content and instructional practices will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools.
