Description


Serve as technical authority for high-voltage safety and support for local occupational safety.
Maintain HV risk assessments as well as audits and inspections.
Verify suitability of tools, testing devices, PPE and work environments.
Consult and approve training programs in HV technology.
Support incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
Advise management on all HV-related technical and safety matters.
Escalate critical safety concerns when required.
Responsible for planning of process and suitable workplace for high-voltage vehicles & components.
Perform vehicle programming and commissioning activities for escalated production vehicles.
Analyze programming failures and identify root causes.
Maintain a structured register of programming issues and actions.
Open, track and follow up problem tickets with MAN headquarters.
Coordinate problem-solving activities between Pinetown Plant and central departments.
Escalate unresolved issues through defined governance channels.
Develop and implement improvements to programming processes, standards and work instructions.
Train and support assembly personnel on programming procedures.
Monitor programming cycle times, rework volumes and software quality performance.
Support introduction of new vehicle variants, software releases and production changes.


Requirements

Qualifications:


Grade: 12 Matric Certificate.
Degree / Btech / Honours in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering (or equivalent).


Skills:


Strong understanding of safety regulations and electrical codes.
Demonstrate integrity and honesty in dealing with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.
Analytical and strategic skills to identify problems thereafter solve them.
Resilience.
Work accurately under pressure and be able to meet deadlines.
Good communication (oral and written) & interpersonal relations skills.
Must be results and process orientated, be proactive and team orientated.
Keen judgement and ethical awareness.


Experience:


Experience in automotive manufacturing, electrical systems, vehicle electronics, diagnostics or programming - 5 years
