Scope of Responsibilities:
The Housing Caretaker is responsible for ensuring that ISK faculty housing is well-maintained, clean, and safe. The position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to continuous learning as new technologies and equipment are introduced.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
Diploma from a recognized technical college.
Minimum of three years' experience in building maintenance or facilities management, with exposure to multiple trades (plumbing, electrical, masonry, etc.).
Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management, and email systems.
Strong written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
Familiarity with ISK policies and procedures and alignment with the school's mission and values.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Qualities:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Prior experience in a similar facility or housing caretaker role.
Experience working in an international or high-standard hospitality environment.
Experience working in an international or multicultural environment.
