Job Summary:
This role requires a strong understanding of the plastic manufacturing industry and its unique HR needs. The individual in this position will collaborate closely with the Head of Department, Executive team and department team mates to develop and implement effective HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organisation's goals and support the overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the organisation's overall business goals and objectives.
Collaborate with the Head of Department to provide guidance and support to senior leadership on HR matters related to workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee development, and retention.
Collaborate with department managers to assess current and future workforce needs. Develop and implement effective strategies for attracting, recruiting, and retaining top talent in the company.
Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, employee discipline, conflict resolution, and employee engagement. Foster a positive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction, productivity, and well-being.
Develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain high-performing employees.
Conduct regular market research and benchmarking to ensure that the organisation's compensation packages remain competitive within the manufacturing industry.
Collaborate with department managers to identify training and developmental needs for employees at all levels.
Design and implement effective training programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and adjust as necessary.
Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures that comply with applicable labour laws and regulations.
Ensure that the department maintains accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
Stay informed about changes in labour laws and regulations and collaborate with the HOD TO make recommendations to senior leadership regarding necessary updates to HR policies and practices.
Establish and track key HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership to communicate HR-related metrics, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
Lead and manage a team of HR professionals and Supervisors to provide coaching, guidance, and support.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree in HR or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5- 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within the plastic industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
