The HR & People Operations Manager will lead the People & Culture function at Ando, providing strategic direction and operational oversight during a critical phase of organisational scale.
This role is designed for someone who can think strategically while enabling execution, helping build strong HR foundations, scalable structures, and a high-performance culture across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team on all people-related matters
Drive organisational design, workforce planning, and role structuring
Build and evolve a scalable People & Culture strategy aligned with business goals
HR Operations & Systems
Oversee HR operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance
Review and strengthen HR policies, frameworks, and internal controls
Ensure effective execution of HR processes across locations
Talent & Workforce Planning
Lead hiring strategy across functions in line with growth priorities
Ensure recruitment aligns with long-term organisational design and capability needs
Support building strong pipelines for critical roles
Leadership Advisory & Employee Relations
Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on team structure, performance, and people challenges
Handle complex employee relations matters with maturity and fairness
Ensure consistent, compliant, and well-documented decision-making
Performance Management & Culture
Design and implement performance management frameworks and review cycles
Drive initiatives to strengthen culture, accountability, and engagement
Support leaders in building high-performing teams
Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices
Maintain strong governance across contracts, documentation, and policies
Identify and mitigate people-related risks proactively
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) certification is preferred
Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
3 - 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or advisory role
Experience in high-growth or scaling environments is strongly preferred
